What’s your favorite place to perform in Sacramento?
Bear Dive! It's a great, up and coming queer space that's really been booming with the new ownership. The audience is electric, and the staff is lovely.
Where do you go in the city when you’re looking for inspiration?
I'm big on nature, so Sutter's Landing river access area is truly lovely. I also really enjoy the murals all over the city.
What’s one thing you want people to know about the queer community in Sacramento?
We are incredibly diverse! There is no archetype for queer people. We are more than just a buff, white, cis man in a jockstrap. We are many, and that is beautiful.
You’re at your favorite local bar or restaurant. Where are you, and what do you order?
Fried zucchini and a tall double vodka cranberry. That's my favorite order every time I go to Bear Dive. But if I was to pick a more normative restaurant, Bento Box makes a GREAT lion king roll.
How has the Sacramento community influenced or shaped your artistry?
There are some lovely fellow performers who encouraged me to expand my drag past what I thought should be expected. Some people wanted me to "pass" and look like a cis man, while others really supported my gender variance and reveled in my chaotic femboy aesthetic. I couldn't be more grateful to my Sacramento performing community that showed up for me before I even knew who I could be.
